Personal moment

Post by NottinghamWhite »

As it’s the clubs birthday today what’s your favourite moment in our history ? Mine is Wembley in 1972 long before the FA Cup was devalued. What a day, what atmosphere & what noise. 47 years on I can still remember everything about that day.

Too young for the Revie era but I have to pick 3 -

1. Bournemouth 1990
2. Cheers bar Sydney - Bristol Rovers game 2010
3. Leeds in Sydney 2019
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

Wembley 72, great memories have a framed picture commemorating that fantastic day on the wall in the hallway. Virtually the first thing any visitors see :D

Would have to go for 1972 FA Cup Final also. I wasn't there but watched it at home as a 6 year old and is my earliest memory of Leeds. From that moment on it was a love affair that's never wavered.

I'd probably go with this as well - I was 12 at the time and agree with earlier comments the FA Cup Final Day was a mammoth 5/6 hours of TV viewing then - Fish n Chips on the sofa - Family around etc etc - I recall the Chelsea final when we drew 2v2 and watched it at my grans as a 10 year old - She let me have the #1 seat to watch - I cried at the end when it was 2 v 2 - She rubbed my hair and said, 'don't worry it is only a game' - I love my gran, but years later I still had to remind her how wrong she was back then
