Elland Road capacity increase to 50,000

There was plans to remove the boxes Bates put in the south stand, but would that increase it by that much. There was also the turning the pitch 90 degrees and building a new west stand further back.

Looking at the image think its adding another tier to the west stand to mirror the east stand

Think there should be a long term aim to make it even bigger.

I would actually turn the pitch 90 degrees and build a new stand in what is now the West Stand car park.

At a later date the South Stand and Geldered end could then be developed as would have more room, currently restricted by having Elland road behind the SS.

I'm with you SW, if we make it back to the top tier then an additional 5000 will be filled straight away. I'd reckon at least 55,000 needed.

I wonder if its a case of looking at how to increase capacity without costing too much, so just develop one stand. We could fill 50K, but I suppose if they don't want a 60K stadium if we don't stay in the PL long. In addition, we go up would you want to spend tons on a complete rebuild rather than new players?
