Just watched the EFL on Quest rerun and Colin Murray suggested we have finished the last 4 decades at the top of the division we were in.
Checked and we ended December 1989 top of the Second Division, ended December 1999 top of the Premier League, ended December 2009 top of League One and now we have ended December 2019 top of the Championship.

Could it possibly be 5 out of 6 as would be surprised if we were not top in 69 as we didn't lose many that season and went on to win with (at the time) record points.
We will forget 79.
We will forget 79.

Leeds were champions one season earlier, 68-69.Selby White wrote:Could it possibly be 5 out of 6 as would be surprised if we were not top in 69 as we didn't lose many that season and went on to win with (at the time) record points.

But we nearly topped the league at the end of 1969, as well. Everton first, Leeds second then.

Still not bad a lowly 2nd place
