Re: Best keeper
Nigel Martyn for me. Top Goalkeeper. MOT.
Re: Best keeper
Nigel for me. Didn't expect to see Mervyn on the list. Soft spot for him as he was keeper when I started supporting this great club

Voted Martyn myself, can't really ever going through a game where I thought he was going to make a rick. He did of course but that fear me was never there.Selby White wrote:Can I give a special mention to our European Cup goalkeeper Dave Stewart.
He was superb in the 1975 semi keeping out Cryuff and his cronies.
Still big Nigel is the best I've seen playing for Leeds, great list though.

Re: Best keeper
Gary Sprake pulled off some fantastic saves & was an integral part of the great Dons team, however he was prone to the odd error. I was at Anfield when he threw the ball into his own net which sparked the Kop into a rendition of Des O’Connors Careless Hands. I was also witness to him punching Bobby Gould back in 1969. There was a lovely quote from that incident “ It was almost as good a punch as Henry Coopers when he knocked down Muhammad Ali back in 1963.” Gary was given a stern talking to by the ref & Gould was later fined £15 for his part in the incident.
Happy days.
