Let's think positive, it is only a matter of time before a billionaire takes us over and we see the back of these Micky Mouse owners who have no interest in our great club.
Keep the faith.
We can get there again.
We can get there again.
We are Leeds, we have to believe our new players are good enough, encourage and support them and help them grow in to a team to be reckoned with. MoT

Do you have a list of last years? Be interesting to see the difference.Aces wrote:This took some finding but ......

Not sure what this proves. We are five places behind Glasgow Rangers and look at the mess they are in. Recently, they asked all the playing staff to take a cut in wages.
LU don't even own their own ground or training facilities and have a squad with a total value of less than £10m (and that is allowing £4m for Ross).

I once played against Don Revie.
Re: We can get there again.
I was just reading a number of posts about how the club seems to be heading in possible directions that most of don't really want to go. I know it's a lot of years since we were in the top 20 top earning teams in Europe, we were actually in 8th place in England and I for one think it's only a matter of time before we get there again. We should be a very tasty project for some bored billionaire, who wants to splash the cash on one of the best teams in England. Fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later.johnh wrote:Not sure what this proves. We are five places behind Glasgow Rangers and look at the mess they are in. Great link. Looks like the French are doing things better than most. The Germans not too far behind. The price to watch the English teams is a whole lot more than any other league. You guys must all be rolling in it!davidbattyspants wrote:http://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/embed_code/30308955

Re: We can get there again.
This shows us is that 15 yeas ago we were among the top 20 clubs in Europe. Today we are not amongst the top 20 clubs in England, not even the top 30. Football has changed a lot in that time, the big clubs are getting bigger, and eating into the money and support base of the rest. The money available to the top clubs now mean it would be very difficult for other clubs to break into the elite, barring been bought by a hugely wealthy individual or company like City, Chelsea, PSG etc.
That is why I worry when I hear people talking about "when we get back to the Premier League" and how it is only a matter of time before we retake our place amongst the top half dozen or so teams in the country. Football has moved on from we left the party 10 years ago. We own neither our ground or training complex. Our ground is in desperate need of modernisation. Our once huge support base is dwindling with every passing year, as kids turn to Premier League teams. We have a squad of very average footballers, and for years now we have shown no real ambition to invest to the levels required to change our position.
We have suffered various false messiahs in the last 10 years who have made big promises but delivered nothing. Here is the thing , we are no longer a big club, we are becoming less of a force with every passing year, and we may never reach the Premiership again. These unfortunately are the facts and people talking of "getting there again" are living in dreamland. We have no divine right to return to the Premiership because we are Leeds, and we are falling further behind with every passing year. The events of the last few days and weeks have only reaffirmed that. We need a huge step change in how this club is run if we are ever to get back to the top league. I hope that somewhere out there is an individual or group of individuals, who step forward and are able to pump the tens of millions of pounds required into Leeds to get us moving again before it is too late. Right now though, it doesn't look good.

Re: We can get there again.
Just takes one bored, devilish billionaire to take us over knowing we get under a lot of the top clubs skin and we are back in the big time, it's good to dream a dream, you never know what's around the corner, good or bad.

I see where you are coming from Aces, but surely if such a person exists then now is the time to show himself? What happens in the coming days may shape the clubs future for years to come.
