The Norman Hunter South Stand

Post by NottinghamWhite »

An early morning announcement that the club are naming the South Stand after Norman. Brilliant news but would prefer we did the naming whilst the player was still alive.

Nice gesture from the club. South Stand was where I saw most of my games when I lived in the UK.
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

Has others have said what a fitting tribute in Leeds Centenary year. When we get promotion aswell his name will forever roll of people's tongue.

Leeds get promoted back to the Premiership in their 100th year and one of their all time legends sadly passes away. I'm sure he would be proud to be associated with both in the same year.

I'm delighted to see the club do this in honor of a club legend. I agree with NW and believe a legend should be recognized in Life, but. I'm sure his family will be thrilled to hear the news as I am.

Great that TU actively encouraged the club to rename - they could have said only when the sponsorship deal ends?

Maybe the club will get new signage up for when we restart, and maybe TU are happy to keep sponsoring?

And funnily enough, TransUnion have got more publicity by removing their name than they ever had with it on the stand.
I had never heard of them before :)

My ST is in the Kop, so obviously I’m looking towards the South Stand, otherwise I don’t think I’d have noticed either.

As Nic says, they actively encouraged it, fair play to them
