It was 2008 they ended up in court and Messi lost. The recent drama broke the internet so search terms will lead you to find nothing about it with basic searches if you try and search for Messi and Barcelona in court. I alluded to that. I have no idea why you would randomly decide I just made it up out of thin air and go researching on Google. perhaps that was a better explanation of you not being able to find anything about it and also an explanation of why I couldn't be bothered to go to the effort to find it. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-olym ... 4520080806
2. Why did we have to do that deal again? because the current deal expired due to suspension of the season and was no longer valid. Leeds didn't want to immediately take the option because we were uncertain of promotion so had to extend the deal otherwise Harrison would have missed the run in and would have gone back to city.
3. Augustin was on 90k at Leipzig. You are completely missing the point. I said they wanted to dump him over his big contract which they were still liable for. What he was on at Leeds is irrelevant. So you questioned my figures which are correct but you say I am wrong by stating completely irrelevant "facts"
3?. It has nothing to do with success. It is bout fans and culture. They have undermined the laws of the game and culture in Germany. The 50+1 rule in particular where they have cut fans out of the club where they only have 15-20 people with voting rights, all of them are coincidentally RB execs and staff.
4. FIFA have already stated themselves... They have not been asked to intervene
A statement from FIFA said it had “no pending cases and (has) not been asked to intervene between RB Leipzig and Leeds regarding Jean-Kevin Augustin”. -Phil Hay
5. You said I made it up!! . Calling someone a liar is an ad hominem last time I checked.

RBL are the ones who need a supplementary interpretation of the contract. The burden of proof is on them to prove Leeds caused an act of god in order to break a contract in the future that had already expired where Leeds had already fulfilled all their commitments within the contract. It will take a wizard not a lawyer.
1. Messi has never taken Barcelona to court. Never has, and never will given his recent statements. You have provided a link for Barcelona taking Argentina to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Entirely different. I'm unsure why you persist in pushing this falsehood.
2. We both have the same information regarding Jack Harrison so unsure why you said that Man City shafted us on the extended deal. The deferred payment was to Leeds' advantage.
3. Your source for Augustin on £90k a week at Leipzig? I've provided you with thee football Insider source of £35k for his wages there.
4. RBL are disliked for their outside sponsorship and corporate set-up. But that wouldn't matter a jot to opposing fans if they hadn't gone from nothing in 2009 to being runners-up in the Bundesliga twice and the champions League semis this year. Success breeds jealousy, particularly if it's bought á la Chelsea, Man City and others. We're being welcomed back to the PL at present but if more cash comes in from San Francisco 49s or elsewhere and we win stuff then watch the backlash start.
5. From Bild- “This is a case for Fifa or later for the International Sports Court CAS. I have the impression that Leeds does not fulfill the contract and Leipzig is left with the damage. RB would have to file a lawsuit and file it with FIFA.” The FIFA could use an accelerated procedure within 21 days to make a decision on the case. The case is coming, unless we settle. And settle we will.
6. Articles in the media on this seem to look at both sides and take advice from different club officials, sports specialists, contract lawyers, etc. RB could push this but so could Leeds. I've not seen any with a particular bias either way. As before I suggest you chat with someone with relevant contract law expertise.
7. Burden of proof on RBL to prove Leeds caused an Act of God? Not at all, an Act of God involves no human agency, can't be guarded against, due to natural causes and foresight can't prevent it (Case law - Transco PLC v Stockport MBC). Covid-19 fulfills those conditions and the contract will be deemed extended.

I also will not enjoy us paying out as that would be sufficient cash to pay for Sibley, or most of the cash towards Cantwell or Kondogbia. If we avoid paying out I'll be delighted. But it ain't going to happen.

It's a weird one. It's the definitely the right choice for him to move on, but I do feel a real sadness to see him go.

Apparently Benrahma has just failed a medical at West Ham. Sounds like we dodged a bullet there on both personality and fitness, even if he is prodigiously talented. You do have to wonder why more clubs haven't actually gone in for him, in spite of much talk and the presumption he'd definitely be a Prem player by the end of the window.

Doesn’t seem to have bothered West Ham, he’s just gone there on loan with an obligation to buy.

Classy action on Victor's part.

Benrahma - I expect it to work out well for West Ham ... Watkins & Benrahma were two of the best players in the Championship last season and our best players in the Championship last season are acquitting themselves well in the Premiership.
