It’s with great sadness from a personal point of view but Pete Lash Lorimer has passed away. Sad day, what a horrendous last 12 months.

RIP Peter Lorimer. I am choked. One of may favourite players of the Revie era.

One of my best memories of that era was one of my fondest memories of my going to the matches with late dad all those years ago. We were at Meadow Lane. on the terraces, behind the goal. There wasn't even a roof on it at that time. Peter Lorimer shot at goal, the ball went over the bar and headed straight towards us, as if shot from a rocket launcher. We had to duck and fast, as it whizzed over the top of our ducked heads. We just looked at each other and grinned.

There seems to be some confusion over this. It's possible the poor guy is not yet deceased.

Adam Pope reporting that the club say the situation remains unchanged from Friday, in that Peter remains in a hospice.
