Hall of Fame - Vote for next inductee

Post by Selby White »

We are starting a new feature on the forum with our "Hall of Fame" where people will be inducted onto our growing list and its the members of the forum that will decide who goes on the list.
Its not just another Legends thread (although suspect a few will feature) you can nominate anyone you feel deserves to be here and that could be anyone from players and coaches to fans and even the Laundry Lady or groundsman if you want.

So if you have someone you would like inducting please nominate by posting your reasons why on this thread.
Once nominated People will stay on the voting list each week until it is full then those with least votes each round will be removed to make way for new nominees. Once off the list they can be nominated again at a later date.

Each person inducted will be listed here and also have a their own official thread where you can all all add your bit about that person.

I make no excuses for starting this thread with our greatest ever manager (we don't vote first week), hope most would agree

So lets have some nominations to see who joins the Don
I will add a voting list on Friday.

If you would like to nominate someone for our "Hall of Fame" please say in this thread as I'll put voting list up each week to see who we induct.

I'll go for Billy (the only Billy) even my old mum who had no interest in football and only watched because I had it on would say, "that wee man never stops running about!" high praise from a no aficionado. Where Don was Mr Leeds off the pitch he was just that on the pitch.

Thanks Davy, Billy is a great shout along with many of the Don's boys but just to make sure we have options I'm going to nominate a player from a different era.
I'll nominate Gary Kelly for this weeks vote, a one club man and I believe the only non Revie players to have over 500 appearances to his name.

So many to choose from my years watching Leeds but one from the current squad I hope eventually gets on the list is Pablo, only man to be the Clubs Player of the year on 3 occasions, also the Players-Player twice.

So that is 3 good nominations and as this is a new forum project I'm going to add a few more to the list of nominees but anyone wants to nominate others each week please do.

Remember this is our Hall of fame not necessary just about legends among our players you can nominate/vote for anyone from supporters to owners or from players to the tea lady.

Nominations -
Billy Bremner
Gary Kelly
Pablo Hernandez

Others I've added to the nominees
Jack Charlton
Eddie Gray
John Charles
Lucas Radebe
Howard Wilkinson
Gary Speed
Les Cocker

Can vote this weekend at top of thread for who you want in the "Hall of Fame" next week.

Bobby Collins must be in there. The first key signing by the Don.
I once played against Don Revie.

Yes John good one, we are asking members for nominations each week, feel free to suggest others.
We are adding one person to the Hall of Fame every week for now (as voted for), will eventually build a significant group.

Bobby will be added to next weeks nominees to vote on

Going back a long time but Ernie Hart, Willis Edwards and Tom Jennings.

Both Hart and Edwards played 400+ games for the club, Edwards was manager of Leeds as well. Jennings was a prolific scorer for Leeds, scored like 110 in around 170 games.
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.
