Your National Leeds Team

Post by Davycc »

Can you make up a Leeds 11 (subs optional) made up of player who have played or have been on the books at Leeds United and who have been in your countries International squad. For some it will be a lot easier than others, some may well struggle but I'm sure we can give a little creative licence to those that do (i.e) parents and kk's national sides way of selecting - if they own an Irish Setter they're in :D BUT if you can find 11 you must use them no matter how useless (I've had to do it)

Heres mine

Bailey Peacock Farrell
George McCartney John McClelland Alex Bruce Nigel Worthington
Stuart Dallas Tony Capaldi Alfie McCalmont Wesley Boyle
David Healey Bobby Browne

Half decent spine in there with not too shappy strike force. Think we're the wooden spoon winners so far tho may run the Aussies close.

Rep of Ireland
Had to do some creative juggling here - top heavy with full backs. Gary Kelly started as a winger, became a full back, so I put him in midfield
Toss up between Jim Begin and Terry Phelan, but Jim played in a European Cup Final, so he gets it, even though injury effectively ruined his career by the age of 23.

Graham Stack
Jim Beglin
David O'Leary
Con Martin
Denis Irwin
Gary Kelly
Johnny Giles
John Sheridan
Stephen McPhail
Liam Miller
Robbie Keane

Special mentions to Terry Phelan & Ian Harte
"An astonishing number of people despise Leeds United or what Leeds United stand for. But this club was never made for them." - Phil Hay
