Odds relating to Leeds Utd

Post by Selby White »

I know they don't always get it right but I believe its a good guide to monitor bookies odds so thought I'd start a thread where we can keep up to date on how things look.

I'll start with one for the optimists betfair are offering 100/1 for a top four finish (most others have us at 50/1 or 66/1).

The usual candidates lead the way
Man City between 1/40 to 1/100 depending on bookie
Liverpool around 1/14
Chelsea 8/11
Spurs 4/6
Man Utd 5/4
Arsenal 2/1

Aren't most odds listings just based on the punters and their bets? Only reason I ask is that I saw that there is a list of managers to replace Rooney at Derby, and Cooper of Forest was something like 12 to 1

A few are that is for sure but think bookies like to get it right for obvious reasons, expensive game if the don't

And for those a little nervous all the bookies have either Brentford or ourselves as 4th favourites for relegation at around 5/2 or 13/5

odds averaged between bookies -
Bournemouth 4/7
Forest 10/11
Fulham 6/5

Just above us
Southampton 11/4
Everton 4/1

Weird that Everton are so 'less likely' than us isn't it?

Raphina to start the season at -

Arsenal 1/2
Spurs 4/1 (odds shortening suggesting money been bet)
Leeds 5/1 (i may just risk a few quid)
Barcelona 7/1 (odds drifting suggesting the have possibly left the race although a couple of bookies have them at 2/1 still)
Chelsea 10/1

Only thing that favours them is history, they never seem to go down, watch this space :D

As I’ve mentioned previously, I have a decent sized bet on us at the beginning of every season. I keep a log of them, and I’m currently around £15k up. I lost last year, as I had us to get 50 points or more, my first loss in 5 seasons from memory.

I’m thinking of taking on Brentford in a straight match bet this time round, it’s around 4/5.
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

Thought of you BB when I first saw to this thread, wandering what the bet would be for the coming season.

Probably a more difficult choice than the previous few years.
