Don Revie -Bad start!

Some others have mentioned, way back when Revie began his management at Leeds, things weren't very rosy at the beginning for him either!

Well imagine for a minute if that was now in 2014: Many would be calling him names, berating him for just about everything and demanding he be sacked or resign.

How times have changed!

Thankfully all of those years ago, people in football knew that a team has to be developed and has to grow with experience and in a stable environment. They knew that this didn't happen overnight and they also had the patience and understanding to stick with it.

Of course money wasn't such an issue and people played more for the love of the game and the team then and less so for huge salaries.

The world is a different place now. In football and in life people expect things to happen immediately and feel the need to change things because of this.

More and more now managers are sacked like it is the placebo cure for a run of bad form or just about anything else. Like switching a switch on and off - it is expected that it will be the immediate solution and more often that not it really isn't.

However most clubs are only successful when they realise the need for stability, time, patience and development, which is why Man U gave Moyles a 6 year contract and why Leicester have finally got a good team etc and why many other teams have the conviction to stick with people when times get tough.

We have been going around in circles for years, we need stability above all else.

How can you make an accurate judgement in this awful situation which is currently as bad as it has ever been!
