How he was allowed into a room with that many weapons is beyond me. Isn't there no security in hotels in Vegas? The guy must have lost a fortune in the Casino and then decided to take as many with him as possible knowing he would be shot dead himself. As many have said we are living in a very sick world.

The shooters brother has said he has not political or religious affiliation. Took his own life before the police got to him. I've just read he had 10 rifles in his room & 406 now receiving treatment.

again the hotel must also be held to account for allowing someone in with an arsenal cache big enough to start a revolution into the hotel. I am shocked that with all the hype in America surrounding terrorism and all the B/S measures people have had to put up with which many were false alarms, here we have a seemingly nice normal American who lost it and decided to take as many people out with him for whatever reason. ISIS and other affiliated groups are watching how this happened and we know how they like to get easy targets. Its a sick world we live in but it will only get worse with the high levels of paranoia that develops when stuff like this happens

R.I.P. to the innocent victims of disgusting and immoral crimes like this.

It beggars belief doesn't it. Apparently some of the guns were calibrated so he could fire even more bullets. He also rigged up cameras outside the hotel room so he could see when the police were coming. I can only imagine that he had lost so much money in Vegas that in his fantasy world it was time for payback. He apparently threw himself to the floor a few years previous and tried to sue the hotel/casino but his claim was unsuccessful. His father was on the FBI most wanted list years back and described as a psychopath, I think it's safe to say he had the same traits. Nutter!

Sounds like he was a successful business man, reputedly being a multi-millionaire.

Two possible reasons why he did what he did crossed my mind :
- To go down in history. End of.
- He had a terminal illness and wanted to lash out.

But like VHTM suggests, it's probably far simpler than that and he was just an utter bell-end nutjob.
