50th anniversary

Post by NottinghamWhite »

Today to most on here is Bonfire Night but for me it's 50 years today I saw my first Leeds game. As a young teenager I didn't have a lot of interest in football although like the rest of the country followed England during their epic year a year before. A neighbour who was a season ticket holder at Roker Park had a spare ticket as his wife was ill for their league cup game against Leeds United. A brace from Jimmy Greenhoff converted me into a Leeds supporter. I still have the programme but just looked & can't find it. Do I regret going to that game half a century ago, do I heck. MOT.

Congrats NW, just checked and I also passed the 50 mark this year. First match I can remember was Chelsea when we beat them 7-0 on 7th Oct 1967 but think was a couple before that.

So you didn't start supporting Leeds until you were in your 20's then. :D
