The problem with Simon Grayson is his obvious poor judgement as displayed by his decision to join Sunderland from a successful role at PNE. He does not appear to have done his due diligence prior to that move. Sunderland were stacked out with 'over the hill' players. They seemed to buy every 'big name' player who was discarded by their previous club. Mainly Man U and who were cheap with several carrying long-term injuries. They also didn't have the money to buy anyone decent and were forced into selling their one decent player - Jermain Defoe. Its a 'no' from me.
I once played against Don Revie.

Best solution is to ask Chrustiansen to stay but step down as coach and bring in Sam Allerdyce or Alan Pardew to mentor him as coach until he understands tactics and the ways of Championship football.

What would you say if your boss told you that you were so spectacularly crap at your job that were being demoted and being replaced by someone tubby and corrupt, or sleazy and arrogant, either of whom would treat you like you should be making the coffee after buggering the role up that badly?

Reckon you'd probably think about heading for the exit ;)

Welcome to the forum Danny.

I don't buy this 'understanding the ways of the Championship' notion for one moment. Look at Nuno Espirito Santo, never been outside Iberia as a player or coach until he arrived at Wolves in May this year. Given their current league position it was either a very astute appointment by someone in the know, or total punt in the dark that is blessed with luck.
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....

Too many managers recently have had no championship experience yet been successful. Newcastle/ Dog botherers / wolves and Sheff Utd this year. Experience is not essential.
