Strange one that, ours occasionally disappear when the sparrow hawks come round, but soon come back again.

The colder weather means cats stay closer to houses/homes meaning they are around gardens more, birds notice this.

We have a regular pair of Blackbirds coming into our garden, but now they have been joined by another Blackbird but this one has a black bill. After a bit of research it seems to be a Scandinavian Blackbird. Will try & get a better look & pin it down as to what it really is.

Not sure about the logic Davey. When the cats roam, they go in someone else's garden. We regularly have two or three neighbour's cats in our garden. Where there are gardens there be cats. In my experience, in the cold weather, you wouldn't see birds (feathered variety) in the lounge because that's where the cats will be. :D

Judging by the amount of money Mrs Barlow has just spent on bird food, I think they’ll be having a cracking Christmas over here pal.

Had a stroll along the canal this morning, had a Robin follow us for a short distance and got really close to a Kingfisher before it flew off across the water.

Just read on a friends Twitter feed that there's over a hundred Hawfinches at Castle Howard in North Yorkshire.
