Given our mid table obscurity over the last few seasons I would say those odds are a tad miserly.

Think the odds for many clubs will change once the transfers are done.
Can see Villa having to sell a few or at least return their loan players.
Teams coming down should have a big advantage given the parachute payments so no surprise with their odds.

For us to get promotion by any means the odds are around the 7/1 mark, with relegation around 8/1.

I always find that handicap betting gives you better value.

What exactly is that anyway ??

I only use L*****kes myself (other betting sites are available) and have had an account for a few years. I know you can get better odds elsewhere, but the site's great and I like their odds booster thing, which is perfect for me as I usually place one accumulator on the Friday ahead of a weekend of football and take it from there.

I know very little about betting other than using their site every week throughout the season.

At the beginning of each season, teams deemed the favourites for their respective league will start at 0 points or ''scratch'' as it's know in the bookies. The rest of the teams are then given ''x'' amount of points (all depending on their prices to gain promotion) to start the season with. For example, last season, Villa were started at scratch and Leeds had a 6 point start.
