I have to hold my hands up in ignorance and say, although i knew the name i'd never really given it much thought to how influential he was in lifting us out of the doldrums of the second division. Like so many cases in life unfortunately it takes death (in my case) before you realise what a how important he was to our success under Wilkinson. R.I.P

The Leeds documentary "Do you want to win?" on Amazon is a good one to watch. Things like Wilkinson didn't want to deal with him and just deal with Silver, the chairman, at first but then went on to have a great partnership. Gems like local LU supporting businessmen saying that they'd get a phone call from Bill Fotherby and come away a couple of grand lighter, such as the portraits of ER each personalised with the company's logo on the hoardings that he managed to get each of them to buy.

It was good to see both sets of fans and players partake in the minutes applause on Saturday.
