During the game yesterday I found myself going all Graham Taylor towards the end, asking "Can we not knock it ?"
I love Bielsa and admire his methods and ultimately I want to stick with him and succeed his way, if only to canonise him as the genius he clearly is.
I just wondered if anyone else felt like this or would prefer promotion any which way : John Beck, Charles Hughes, Tony Pulis, Big Sam style ?
NB Allardyce is just an example - I don't want him sullying our club, thankyouverymuch

Re: Style vs Substance
Trouble is its not a exact science, we've failed with plenty of "percentage" managers in the past and we've not yet failed this season.
Personally I like the way the Club/Team is shaping up and I can't think of any managers that would have got more out of the players than we have seen this season.
Whatever happens I believe we are building a future, its not just about the first team I feel infrastructure is been developed, we are a Club again.
So to answer the question, Bielsa and his team all day long for me.
And to add when we do go up under Bielsa we will stay there, the other method we would be relegation candidates, lets do it right.

Bielsa every time. All we need is a striker. Have been following the Everton v Arsenal game. Everton sold their striker last year (like us) and didn't replace him. They should be 4 - 0 up against Arsenal but are only 1 - 0 up, and that goal was scored by a defender. Both Leeds and Everton need about 15 -20 chances for each goal.
I once played against Don Revie.

I would add after the goalkeeper the Striker/main scorer is the most specialist position on the field (why they cost more).johnh wrote:Bielsa every time. All we need is a striker. No brainer for me Bielsa hands down. I have always watched us whenever I could but so many times I used to sit and watch games thinking is this all we have. I watch games now and even though we have bad days like yesterday we try to play football the way I want it to be played. Whether we go up this season or now I think we'll get the pieces MB needs for next season should that be in the Prem or still in the Championship.

Bielsa and his style without any doubt. The likes of Pulis and Allardyce are a dying breed and won't take us far.

Re: Style vs Substance
What Bielsa has done this season in a short space of time with a very similar squad to last year is a great turnaround & a testament to his ability as a manager/coach/leader,I (like all of us I imagine) hope he stays around for 2 or 3 more years to continue & build a legacy that lasts for years
To answer the question - Style, lets hope he builds something that lasts & is effective in modern football & probably more important ...Is entertaining.

Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

The question is posed with a bias, however I definitely think style - great entertaining football. The team play as a team and bielsa didn't want a striker at christmas. Would people still want Bielsa if he doesn't want a big striker purchase over summer,, have mostly the same squad next year with a couple of additions none of which is a big league striker?

Not sure we should write Bamford off just yet, MB rates him given the fact you make that he didn't want a striker.Nic wrote:The question is posed with a bias, however I definitely think style - great entertaining football. Remember a lot of our fans didn't like Chris Wood at the start of his Leeds career.
Someone mentioned the other day we need a Billy Sharp type, let's remind ourselves he scored 5 in 33 games when he was here.
