The last two weekends have seen Rod Stewart and Take That play at St.Mary's but I had no interest in seeing either.

I saw Take That & Rik Astley last night at Uddersfield. Don't really like either and only went because the wife wanted to see them. I spent all the time sat down checking the news and stuff on my phone while everyone else was stood up dancing. Longest 3 hours of my life.

Nah ...try UB40 concerts..... That's time I'm never getting back!

Which UB40? isn't there two UB40 bands nowadays or have they got back together again since Ali Campbell Astro and Mickey left them? I grew up listening to UB40 and of course Bob Marley and the Wailers (reggae music in general)

Was once the lead singer in a reggae band about 15 years ago. still get up on stage now and then to sing redemption song or do a few Karaoke hits of UB40 and I still have the passion for it.

Someday i will get back into writing songs and the composing of the music as that was my best talents not just playing and singing them.

Must admit am not a huge Reggae fan but sound was rubbish etc ... maybe just too old but the couple with us who booked it are big UB40 fans and they were really disappointed.

Honestly Davy, I was hugely disappointed when Ali first split from the original UB40 band about 6-7 years ago now. I used to go and see the band on a regular basis and i have traveled around Europe while going to concerts in Germany, Holland, Ireland, Belgium and of course in Birmingham where the band come from.

After he left I never went to any of their concerts again with both the original band or Ali's new UB40 band. There just isn't the same sort of fluency to either of them and a friend of mine who i used to travel with a lot to see them felt he was cheated out of his money after going to a few of both because they basically are not the same anymore without the original band members.

Someone has posted a video on an Everton website. The guy drove round the route of the Liverpool open-top bus parade. It was before the parade but there were thousands of Liverpool supporters lining the route. The guy had his two sons in the car, aged about 10 and 12 and they were mortified and ducked into the footwell's when at the start of the drive, he put his amplifier on and played Z Cars (the Everton theme) for the whole trip. Brave guy.

I’m not a massive music fan, but seen a few in concert, The Killers, Jake Bugg, Madness, The Specials (a bit diverse I know).

Anyway, me and Mrs B went to see Mumford & Sons last night at the Sheffield Arena, blimey, those fellas know how to work a crowd. I’ve never seen it before, but the stage was in the middle, with various microphones around the stage and the band members were moving from one to another so all the crowd got to see them.

Absolutely brilliant, and highly recommended.

Been to a few gigs over the years but nowadays prefer the small local shows.
Quite often acts we've not heard of but very rarely let down.

Don't know if you've tried Selby Town Hall (doesn't get more local) BB but they often have decent stuff on.
We've took pot luck and seen it all from Jazz to Rock, from Blues to Country and had excellent nights out.
Also get the odd star from the distant past performing which are often worth a look, Hazel O'Connor did a cracking acoustic set.
Not too expensive but doesn't help the pocket too much as involves a meal at one of the local restaurants first.

Worth keeping an eye on their website to see what is coming up, never know may be something you fancy

Yeah, we’ve not been but seen various acts advertised in the Selby Times.

A chap who I used to help with his Guide Dog goes regularly, think he’s seen the odd comedian there. I’ll bear it in mind, cheers mate

I've seen a few things from Everton and Liverpool fans this week : the defaced tower (of the Toffees' badge) and the tit-for-tat defacing of the new Klopp mural.
