When I moved to Leeds in 1951, aged 16, I joined a local boys' club. One of the other members of the club was a lad called Maurice Bamford. Same age as me but looked about 25. Strong as an Ox. He played Rugby League for Leeds Colts and I went to see him play a few times at Headingley. Also played football with him for the boys' club football team at Becketts Park. RIP.
I once played against Don Revie.

Back in 1970 my father came to England to play rugby league and one of people he got to meet was Maurice Bamford, in 1986 Maurice was working at Elland Road (as he was the Great Britain coach at the time) and he took me on the pitch at Elland Road and around the trophy rooms, very sad to hear that he passed away, RIP Maurice!
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.

Former Arsenal and Sevilla forward Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a car accident.

Sad news indeed. Always liked him as a player.

Sad news indeed.
He was the favourite player of my ex's daughter - they're both big Gooners and will be devastated by this story :(

RIP to a great player to watch.

Paul Darrow.

Great character actor, specialising in slimey villains, most notably as Avon in the magnificent Blake's 7.
I met him when working for Virgin in Oxford Street and he was great - just as I expected, full of life and a proper luvvy.

RIP Avon :(

Leyton Orient boss, and former Spurs player, Justin Edinburgh dies aged just 49.
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

One of those names that isn't at the forefront of your mind but when you hear it it brings back memories . 49 way too young to leave us. RIP
