Because I think selling our best players on the cheap and forcing them out, besmirching Jansson in the press the day after Derby and doing all they can to slate him publicly after accepting the bid, I should support someone else?

I'm done with this forum tbh. Unless you think Radz is above criticism, it's not for you.
In fairness to ANS, he blew a fuse a bit there and we've talked about it in the mods' room so I think you copped some fallout from ISR's Nazi reference.
Without that, he wouldn't have reacted so strongly I don't think.
I also think he's buggered off to cool down so I'll let him answer you definitively but that's the impression I got.

I don't want anyone to think AR is beyond reproach because he's not.
I just feel very strongly that the internet is becoming an all-or-nothing forum generally - I don't mean this message board specifically but it is a good example at times, this being one of them.

We generally enjoy the back and forth between views and I understand the criticism of AR and yet I can also see that he doesn't have as much money as a lot of people want him to have. That's undoubtedly true, but for now he's our boss and apart from not signing a busload more players, he's rarely put a foot wrong.
He's also been in the job two years, Bielsa one, and we finished third last season punching well above our weight so overall I'd say they've both been successful.
Put it in the light of the Monk situation right now and the wacky Cellino decisions, managerial and otherwise, and I think he needs defending if he's trying to be sensible with the spending rather than going for broke.

I don't want us to go into administration again.
Ever.
I would rather wait another few years and go up organically than gamble on four or five players we can't afford right now.

Right.
Enough from me .. carry on ..

Why Brentford and not a Premiership/top flight club?
£5.5m is a poor figure but if he's as good as is being made out to be, that figure would be higher from a higher division earlier in the window.
Very good player and the fact he rates so highly since relegation says more about the standard he's being compared with than him.

As I said earlier if he goes we simply have to bring in someone equally as good or if not better otherwise we’re going backwards, we’re nowhere near good enough for promotion without one .

We don't know the reasons, and I'm sure different viewpoints will come out. It has put a bad taste in the mouth after what has been a decent close season in terms of transfers (when you look at realistic expectations). Whilst we don't know if it is , at the core, Bielsa and Jansson falling out, Bielsa not wanting him in the first team and Jansson not content playing just for U23 then realistically one had to go. Would you rather Bielsa or Jansson?

£5.5M is a steal but if it is a case of selling and other clubs know we are selling then the price will be low - maybe we could have looked at loaning him out for the year, though we don't know if Jansson would have been happy with that. We have historically got less, but more because we have wanted to get rid of players and so accepted offers rather than holding out for more.

I think it is weird that there is no better clubs than Bradford that wants to buy Pontus if he’s available for 5,5m. To me that indicates that a lot of teams we think he should be good enough for don’t want him because they either think a) he’s not as good as we think and/or b) he’s not the kind of guy they want in the squad.
I think that is a very interesting signal.

Not really a case of who I want to leave nic, rather a case of why is it always one step forward two steps back and to be honest Costa aside I’ll reserve judgment on this window for a later date , but as I said we have to hope the club are doing it for the right reasons, all we have to go on unfortunately is rumours, be nice of Radz or Angus to actually be upfront with us when the time is right, the silence around the club deafening.

Jeez ...... so ANS blew a fuse, but it is still ISR's fault

I just hope that ISR is not hounded off this forum by mods in the way that other posters have been in the past.

isrodger wrote:Apologies ANS but there is a tendency nowadays to be very happy clappy where riggers sycophants are unhappy about anything which is critical of the club in any way. The thread I started re Pontus was a classic example which you have now deleted.
There's just as many people disagreeing with me on the Jansson situation, if not more, so your argument doesn't stand up in this case.
Call me cynical but "there is a school of thought" that you started the thread deliberately to be provocative.
Oh, and it's not been deleted at all - I said I merged it if you read my post again. The entire content is now in the main transfer gossip thread.

Interestingly FYI a player WHO PLAYED with billy & Norman originally stated what I said after the villa game however in fairness mckenzie never played under the Don.
My mum used to say to my sister as I "So if s/he put their head in the oven, would you ?!" whenever someone said something like that ..
McKenzie is hardly a club legend at Leeds and even if he was it wouldn't make any difference to the situation here because it was in another era, there were no play-offs back then, the game was different, society was different, the culture of the club, the game itself and the world at large was also very different.

And again I apologise to you we go back a while & you spar but I wouldn’t wish to offend you
So implying I'm a Nazi didn't ring any alarm bells in your head then ?
Or they did but you posted it anyway ?
What do you think of Wayne Hennessey's antics then ?

I don't want your apologies because I don't believe they're sincere.
You're a grown man and should know better.

I just want you to stop pushing, wind your neck in a bit and think before you post.
We've been down this road before though, haven't we ??
I thought you agreed that we wouldn’t comment on each other’s comments.

Of course some of my posts are provocative... better than “your so right Rigger but I would tweak the formation” ... complete with team selections in subutteo formation. Maybe traffic on this forum would increase as people debate rather than just agree with you. On occasions your insulting and maybe quite ignorant of certain aspects, but that would never stop you having an option on matters would it.

The mind is like a parachute .. only works when it’s open :D

I didn’t apologise to you .... nor would.. for someone I’ve never met... I dislike you.

You seem like someone who supports momentum - who even many socialists would describe as modern day nazis.

True Mckenzie’s not a club legend ... however probably better than anyone you’ve seen play for lufc in the past 20 yrs

I question wether you go to games... you probably just sit behind a key board.

Back to football... it’s a bad decision all round... Radz or Bielsa has made a bad call. Can you conceptualise just maybe - a multi millionaire who’s bought a football club to make money and to showcase his other businesses (which might be failing) just might be as insincere as previous owners. Also when a player quite rightly tells him to f..k off and get off the pitch, he might bare a grudge, as his ego is bruised.

Secondly ... bielsa who I really admire .. is not devoid of criticism. Even the likes of Fergie & Wagner have failed to recognise the most basic issues & weaknesses in their teams that fans and pundits can immediately diagnose.

The price does send an interesting signal. It is very low and he is worth a good deal more.

I’ve seen mentions of Maupay coming in the opposite direction as part of the deal (a suggestion that is all over Twitter) but I think that’s unrealistic. There’s no logic to that kind of swap element and he’s under contract until 2021. He’d easily fetch 12m +.

You've called me a Nazi twice now.
But I'll be hounding you out if you're banned...

Wow.

Anyone else wanna mod this place? I'm getting tired of it...
