Hedgehogs are great for controlling slugs in a garden. They are one of only a few creatures to eat them. They do tend to carry a lot of fleas though!

Well the Travelling Community in the Sports field behind our house were finally evicted this weekend and what a mess they have left for someone to clear up after them
So now they have moved about a mile or so and are now camped in a field on the edge of Brayton, must cost a fortune continually going to court to get them evicted.

Re: The blabla of the forum
Had a fancy shelving unit delivered from John Lewis.
Its a flat pack so carefully checked all the bits where there, great so put it together only to find a hole in the final shelf doesn't line up so cant screwit together.
What is it with Flat Packs 3 of the last four things I've ordered had problems.
Garden Bench from homebase - screws missing (had to send complete bench back, when a couple of screws off the shelf would have done).
Missing knob off BBQ from Argos - At least they just sent me the part required.
Now waiting for John Lewis to phone back.
Have a Wine Cabinet coming tomoz, whats the odds it wont be all there ?

Was the box you received ripped or damaged in any way ?
Sometimes, they get so battered that the little packets of fixing fall out in transit, especially if you've bought online from a third party and not directly from, say, Ikea. The more places the box has to be processed through, the more conveyor belts, vans, loaders and unloaders it has to be handled by and each stage of the journey adds another potential knock, bang or drop that can do this.
I know : I work for UPS
Some of the things we receive are a disgrace - footprints on them, heavy loads held together by one plastic strap, some shreds of cellophane and lots of brown packaging tape.
It's not us mishandling stuff as we put it on the van - it's the journey it's already taken to get to this penultimate step

No came direct, its all pre-drilled with for screws to match up with threads. There are actually two of the shelves that are identical (in theory) but one set of holes are about 5mm out when you compare them so the screws don't line up.rigger wrote:Selby White wrote:Had a fancy shelving unit delivered from John Lewis.

Manufacturing fault ?
The 2nd & 4th shelf are the two identical ones but one doesn't quite line up as it should.

CorkWhite, hope you see this. I sent an acknowledgement to your PM earlier today and then a full reply not long ago. However, I am not sure what is happening with my PM's as after I hit 'submit' nothing shows in 'Sent items', even after getting the message 'your message has been sent'. I apologise if you receive multiple messages.
I once played against Don Revie.

I think it only appears there when it's been read by the intended recipient, John.
