I made a chicken stew/casserole thing which I had with rice. Very nice. Basic barbecue tomorrow.

Yesterday we made a stew of chicken with vegetables, herbs, mushrooms and bacon bits in red wine. If I'd have remembered to put the garlic in we might have called it coq au vin
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....

Just had - fillet steak, new pots, baby corn on cob, peas. Glass of red. So this evening I am on a trip down memory lane. For the first time in (I can't remember) I bought some corned beef yesterday. I am going to have a corned beef sandwich this evening with some Piccolo tomato's. Might hum the theme tune to Dad's Army while I'm eating it.

Nothing wrong with a Corned Beef Sandwich especially with some Branston Pickle on it and paired with a nice Chianti :D

Funny enough was clearing out a lot of stuff recently including a book case and found a old cook book (probably older than me) which was all about cooking meals with corned beef. Some lovely looking meals in it :D

Love corned beef rediscovered it a few years back at Scarbados in a shop opposite the ground & all they had left were corned beef rolls, not looked back since. Prefer the sliced stuff to tinned. Tonight we will be having a gammon joint basted with honey, new potatoes & salad.
