Viduka Hits The Mark wrote:Labour are starting to frustrate the hell out of me now. If there’s one thing I will take from the last 3 years it’s in future look beyond the Labour giveaway headlines and just study the people who are in the Labour party.

Before the 2016 Referendum it was said numerous times, on all the major politics shows, the news, newspapers ect ect that a vote to Leave would mean leaving both the customs union and the single market. Today Labour will table an amendment contradicting that position and now want to remain in the Customs Union with close single market alignment. Remain in all but name. BRINO.

In the 2017 General Election Manifestos both Labour & Conservative said they would honour the 2016 referendum result, what Labour didn’t state in that GE at the time was they would create 6 tests that in essence were the same as remaining.
So here we are over 3 years later and Labour is still unsure of what they really want. We now know they want a 2nd Referendum/confirmatory vote before we have had the first one confirmed, this despite numerous Labour politicians being on record saying that a 2nd referendum would be more divisive than the first. We know it will be more divisive and will lead to a 3rd 4th best of 5 vote.

We also know they don’t want a GE “after they effectively stole my vote in 2017” because they know people are furious with their stance. They talk about negotiating a new deal with the EU themselves and then campaigning against it in another Referendum. I don’t say this lightly, but I hope they pay a heavy price in the next GE for their ambiguity and in some cases down right deceit. They changed their minds purely for political reasons because of the Lib dems resurgence and imo it doesn’t get much lower than that.

Depending if Remainer Burkow sees fit? Parliament will vote on a new deal today.

Now, whether you are a leaver or remainer, whether you like Boris or not, I’m sure we can all agree that Boris Johnson has thrown himself into getting a deal and wanting to get Brexit done by the 31st of this month so we can all move on. Against all the odds, he’s managed to get the EU to re-open the Withdrawal Agreement and managed to negotiate a new deal which both the EU and the Remain side of the Conservative party will support, but yes you guessed it..THE LABOUR FRONT BENCH WON'T SUPPORT IT AGAIN.

They now claim this is a worse deal than Theresa May’s deal which they voted down 3 times.

Make your minds up you spineless bunch of hypocrites and VOTE FOR THE DEAL.

I think there'll be a lot of new nation states being formed over the next decade or so.

Catalunia is the obvious starting point, but Scotland won't be far behind at this rate.
A unified Ireland maybe ?
Cornwall ?
Yorkshire ?
Maybe not, but you never know ..

If Brexit doesn't happen, the collateral damage will be far more than just Brexit. DEMOCRACY will be destroyed. If we remain in the EU, the EU will be pleading with us to leave inside a year. There will be a massive boycott of EU products by 17.4 million people, just as the EU is going into recession. Miller and her tricky lawyers, MP's, nor the EU will be able to do anything about it. I started some time ago, there are lots of nice wines in countries outside the EU.

Agree with you its only what has happened in recent years in Eastern Europe.

Catalunia definitely as its the richest area of Spain.
The Basque region is another Spain needs to think about.

Also logic with Scotland that needs to be their choice. Am against them asking for a referendum every year though, needs to be a reasonable gap before they vote again.

That's the galling thing about Scotland they want Independence regardless of Brexit as the Referendum 2014 showed. You would hope Scotland would show the same level of courtesy in accepting the outcome of the 2014 independence referendum as the Government were in granting the vote. Scotland only need to look to Spain for a very different picture. I don't think Scotland should ever hold a Referendum again personally, its as if the 38% of Scottish Remainers never existed.

I also think Scotland, as well as Gina Miller have set a really bad precedent in involving the courts in process. Can you imagine a scenario in the future where the Government of the day passes legislation that is unpopular by the public at large and then people will be wondering why nobody with money is bothering to take it to court on their behalf. Although with today's crowd funding opportunities i wouldn't rule it completely out.

Best comment in the HOC today was by Desmond Swayne.

In regards to you refusing the same question to come before the house for a second time today Mr Speaker, can you now rule out that we will not go back and ask the people for a second time Mr Speaker. :D

Interesting i picked up that John Bercow is going to be questioned by some committee or other about impartiality in his role as speaker. You should have heard the groans on the opposition benches. Not that it will matter much, he quits on the 31st of this month.

I wouldn't bet on Bercow going at the end of this month. Remainer's will get him to stay on. Bercow re-wrote the job description for the role of Speaker. The word 'impartial' does not now appear anywhere.

You do realise that your mate Boris wanted to stay in the EU until he could see a way to further his political career.
