Australian Bush Fires

Post by Deleted User 3289 »

What a devastating way to start the new year for our Aussie friends. I think its 17 people who have lost their lives, including volunteer firefighters, thousands who have lost their possessions and had to be evacuated, and over half a Billion species of Animal and plant life have been eradicated. Terrible awful situation the feeling of powerlessness of not being able to do anything.

My daughter emigrated over there in July, thankfully, she is nowhere near the fires but even she says she can see the awful coloured sky.

Terrible tragedy.

Thing is there’s always bush fires in Australia but these seem much worse than normal. The sickening thing is that sometimes they are started deliberately, the perpetrators should be sent down for life. Hope all our members are safe.

It really is hard to even start to imagine the scale of these terrible fires.

It is pretty bad even near me.

Doesn't help when temps are 35-45 nearly everyday. The firefighters are struggling at best, even had people from other countries here.

It's the worst its ever being for the 29 years I've been here.

Yes alot of these fires are started by human hands which beggars belief.

RIP to those lost

The loss of wildlife is catastrophic
