Saw Tommy Docherty several times as an 'after dinner speaker'. Very funny man, dry Scottish wit. RIP.
I once played against Don Revie.

Tommy Dochertyisms

They offered me a handshake of £10,000 to settle amicably, I told them that they would have to be a lot more amicable than that.

Comment to Leighton James. 'You're very deceptive son. You're even slower than you look.'

On Ray Wilkins. 'He can't run can't tackle and can't head the ball. The only time he goes forward is for the toss.'
I once played against Don Revie.

Sadly we lost another of the games great characters.
Seem to remember he got sacked from Chelsea just hours before Chelsea were to play us at Elland Road, we had some fun with that one,his ears must have been burning that day.

Gerry Marsden died. RIP

Man who gave the UK a great football anthem albeit a cover if truth known.
All clubs fans back in the day used it not just Liverpool & Celtic.

Used to love singing You’ll Never Walk Alone back in the day. The 72 cup final had a great rendition of it. Gerry & the Pacemakers from Liverpool a city that gave so much to the music scene of the 60’s.

RIP Gerry.

I was lucky enough to see him perform "YNWA" at Parkhead when I saw Celtic play Stuttgart in the European Cup about 15 years ago.
The match was reffed by Collina too.

Sent shivers down the spine hearing 60,000 Bhoys fans joining in :)

Wow. One of the great arenas.
