Black pud is a bit hit and miss - it can range from delicious to pretty bad depending on how it is cooked and maybe the quality of the product.
As a generalisation I would say that black pud is harder to find in the South and is better cooked up North.
So - maybe have black pud up North but don't bother if you are South of Brum.
Agree with this, black pudding is not something I crave particularly. However Lidl have had a pack of two pieces for a very reasonable price and it was really delicious.
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....

NW if ever your driving up the A1 on your visits to North Yorkshire just come off at the A63 junction (Selby to Leeds road). Right on the junction there is a small garden centre (Lumby) and their Cafe does a square sausage made by a local butcher. We occasionally call for a Sarnie for lunch if been out and about.
Looking forward to them opening again so we can enjoy the delights of a sausage & bacon sarnie.
