Ok news a little slow with the international break and different topics with regards to best teams and best players but very hard to to pick any plays outside of the Don Revie era, so what about your favourite players/team post 1980. Not so many players to chose from in the earlier 80s but maybe a little more controversial and give some of the younger members a chance to put their best/favourite 11...
kicking off with a 3-4-3 formation
Martyn
Radebe Ferdinand Matteo
Stachan Batty Dacourt Speed
Viduka Yeboah Hasselbaink
Best Team Post 1980
Re: Best Team Post 1980
No way could that front three play together !
It'd be fun though ..

Re: Best Team Post 1980
Best in terms of pure ability
Martyn
Mills Woodgate Ferdinand Dorigo
Stachan Batty Mcallister Kewell
Yeboha Cantona (Limited games) alternatively Viduka & Smith
Noteable absence Radebe & I actually think if Byram develops he could be a shoe in at Right back.

Re: Best Team Post 1980
Id have:
Nigel Martyn
Trevor Cherry
Lucas Radebe
Paul Hart
Tony Dorigo
David Batty
Gordon Strachan
Gary McAllister
Gary Speed
Mark Viduka
Tony Yeboah
Subs - Jon Lukic, Ian Snodin, Gary Kelly, Dom Matteo, Rod Wallace, Ian Baird, Oli Dacourt
I couldn't look much further than Wilko's midfield when it came to the crunch, after all, they did win the league. A couple of older selections in Trevor Cherry and Paul Hart. Not sure how those front two would have played together though!

Re: Best Team Post 1980
Our two top scorers in terms of number of goals scored and goals scored per game haven't yet had a mention. Could it be that the sheer excitement of some of Tony Yeboah's goals outweigh the consistent goal scoring of other players?
