Luke Ayling out for 2 months, with ligament damage
When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

I thought as much when I saw him hobbling off on Saturday. Injuries really are jinxing us this season.

Really bad news, this. Bielsa's game relies so heavily on flying wing-backs; it's no coincidence that our dip in form coincided with Douglas' injury, and it worries me that we don't have the quality in depth to manage this. Alioski does the job on the left, but I'm not at all confident in Berardi on the right.

Douglas should be back at the weekend after playing an hour for the u23's today.
Follow the cause not the leaders.

It'll be Dallas on the right judging by Bielsa's presser.

Dallas is a strange one really.rigger wrote:It'll be Dallas on the right judging by Bielsa's presser.
Was brilliant for Brentford in an attacking role as W or WB, including goals and assists. Does a good job for NI as well. He should be more involved in the 1st team but always seems to let himself down.
Looked our weakest link in the last few games (although he was better later in the game vs Forest).
He should be built for this role but has been a big let down. He has had enough opportunities on both flanks and even a spell through the middle but only shows the occasional glimpse of quality.
If he had no talent or engine, we could just say he isn't good enough but he has shown that he can be a threat. Very frustrating.

I think Bielsa prizes effort and running above all else - it's all part of his relentless team ethic.
His ideal player would be James Milner, but the closest we have to him is probably Dallas in terms of athleticism.

You cant predict it but it is a shame Coyle is out on loan. He's performing very well for Fleetwood and although he is probably more slight of frame would make a perfect replacement for Ayling.
I would say Dallas will get the nod to play there now, hopefully Shakleton see's time off the bench while Ayling is out
