Me neither but thought i'd give it a go, website certainly gives them a decent write up.

I do that sort of thing as well SW, have a look at what sort of music it is and if I fancy it pop along, it is usually a good cheap night out, I hope you enjoy the night and let us know what it was like.

Well picked tickets up today and bloke said not many left, get a few decent nights at the town Hall and its often the ones you've not heard of that turn out the best.
Its not while May but have to look sharp if you see something you fancy as they often sell out, its a small venue but i prefer that (and a 10 minute walk from home).
Decent restaurant next door so we'll probably make a night of it with dinner before.

Just back from an overnight stay in Bournemouth to watch James at the o2. It`s the 6h time we`ve seen them and they were as good as ever, Tim Booth is amazing at 56.

Anybody else into Eels ??
I first heard them when I worked in record shops and a young, introverted colleague played them a lot.
At first I thought it was repetitive shoe-gazer crap but over time I started to appreciate them more and more and now I love them.
The lyrics are very dry and funny, while ostensibly miserable - a bit like an American Morrissey in a way - while the music ranges from acoustic, through piano-centric ballads, right up to angry indie rock.

Here's a taster from their 2005 album, Blinking Lights and Other Revelations :

The people have decided - protest song wins Eurovision. Quite moving really.

Anyone interested in protest songs should give Anohni's 'Hopelessness' a spin. Best protest album since the 60s. We have our album of the year.

On Tuesday night (14th) finally, after 46 years waiting, I get to see my all time fave performer AC, with his original band, well 3 out of 4 of them anyways.
RIP Glenn Buxton, 1997, can't believe it's 20 years! What a great axeman you were.
Back in 1971 I asked my folks if I could go see them on their Love It To Death tour and they said deffo not. (I was not a happy bunny!!)
I was too young and this lot were dark, satanic, evil and corrupting the minds of the teenage youth of the time.
The BBC banned them at one point and even the Government commented on their bad influence on Britain's young people?
To say I can't wait is an understatement.
