Bruno Boban, who was a soccer player in the Croatian third division sadly died on the field of play after being hit in the chest by the ball at close range. After the event he seemed to be ok but he suddenly collapsed and never recovered even with help of the medical staff. He was only 25 years old, very sad and so very young.
RIP Bruno

I do seriously wonder how many people die every week around the world on a football pitch

Also loved him as Claude Greengrass in early series of Heartbeat, his one liners were up there with Ronnie Barker in my list of all time greats IMHO.cheffy007 wrote:Another of the old guard has sadly passed. Bill Maynard 89. Loved him as Selwyn Froggitt. Magic our Morris. RIP.

Re: The departed
Just seen the news about Eric Bristow. What a shock. I played against him in a minor tournament many years ago , just as he was starting to gain fame. So , so sad.

Re: The departed
Just heard it on the news, never really followed darts but he was always the man to beat in the era of darts I remember most. Eric, John Lowe, Jocky Wilson Keith Seller, etc were the names I grew up with.
RIP Eric a sporting superstar.
