I know this will probably get lost amidst the deserved Ali tributes but Swarb needs to be remembered too. A great musician and songwriter.

Absolutely, and for me, probably as big a figure in my life as Ali - I too remember those early Ali fights and he was a true collosus os entertainment. But for me, so too was Swarbrick. From my teens onwards Fairport and the whole "Canterbury" music scene ranging from folk rock through to jaz rock was central to my music listening as it was for most of my contemporaries at school and uni. And Swarb was also fundamentally an entertainer. It will forever be one of the iconic pictures in my mind when listening to Fairport, Swarbrick playing his fiddle with his lit fag still smoking and wedged in the neck of his fiddle! Been playing a few of my Fairport albums tonight. Cropredy will be a special place this summer.

It takes me back to the days me, my brother and dad used to sit around the kitchen table listening to the boxing on the radio, lovely times. He was unique.

Had fought cancer for quite a while, had a bit of a crush on her years ago, just something about her.
