Can someone please recap the rules?
Yep, you're probably thinking of last season's PREMIER League Positions Game; that did indeed work like that. But we also had a CHAMPIONSHIP game - this one - which we're now 'exporting', as it were, onto half-a-dozen friendly forums. The thing is that from experience - four or five seasons now - fans of teams who are not in the same league as the predictions being made tend to lose interest as the season wears on. So for this CHAMPIONSHIP game we've only got seven championship forums and none from the Premier clubs!!
This is how "our" one works. MOST points are better!
POINTS – how do you SCORE?
Depending on the real Championship table on every FIRST day of the month I’ll be adding points to your previous month’s running score and these points will be:
A)
TOP 6 - For every team you correctly predict in top 6 – ONE point (example, you put Forest 3rd but they are 5th). For an exact placing in top 6 – 2 bonus points = 3 POINTS in total for that team (example, you put Forest 3rd and they are indeed 3rd).
B)
BOTTOM 3 - For every team correctly predicted in bottom 3 – ONE point. For an exact placing in bottom 3 – 2 bonus points = 3 POINTS in total for that team (so works in the same way as top 6).
C)
YOUR OWN TEAM choice placement will score like this:
An exact placing = 5 points / one-placing out = 4 points (e.g. you said 8th but we’re 9th) / two placings out = 3 points / three placings out = 2 points / and four placings out = 1 point.
These are added on every beginning ofmonth ...

I think I've worked out why I'm so sheeeeyite at the LUFC predictions league in comparison to my World Cup efforts: it's because I'm emotionally attached to the club and can't think straight.
It's the old "heart vs head" argument ...
With Leeds, the highest I finished was 4th two years ago.
With England, I didn't get A SINGLE POINT from ANY of the matches in their group yet still won the overall World Cup Prediction League.
I just can't get it right when it comes to a team I love.
The saving grace of this particular competition is predicting where your own club finishes is a teeny weeny factor in the overall standings

CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE POSITIONS GAME - Early October Update
Includes all the points added on for the month of September …
Daddyreddog. Moderator from the Nottingham Forest board, is the overall leader, but as a forum Blackpool’s Back Henry Street forum are way out on top; three placings within the first four, and yet another tucked in at 6th!
But there’s a LONG way to go …
Key:
Total Points // Name // Forum // Monthly break-down (Most recent month appears last on R.H. side)
The MORE points you score the better!
many thanks! I've been up to it in four different fan interviews from four forums that I had to complete, didn't get much chance to do anything but the bare minimum!
