We’re in the middle of planning a few days in Norfolk staying at Titchwell on the coast road. Probably going next month. It’s an area we know well. It has an abundance of decent pubs serving good food albeit a tad on the expensive side.

Just back from 3 days in La Pineda - NO KIDS

First time in Spain. Very nice, spotlessly clean.

That's the one LA. Saw Estival, v nice. We stayed at the top floor of Hotel Best Terramarina. Nice room, with a beautiful corner terrace and outside bed...

Currently on one of our UK train trips visiting the towns & city's of our great country.
Just has a couple of nights in Stafford (first time). Yesterday we did a planned walk in a nature reserve (doxey marshes) until we got soaked when the heavens opened.
So in the afternoon went to the flicks (cinema for younger readers) to see the new James Bond film.
Was trying to remember last time I've been think it was in the 1970s as that is when Selbys last picture house burnt down.
Onward for a couple of nights in Stratford upon Avon after breakfast.

'Flicks' is an Americanism. 'Old' English is 'went to the pictures',

Booked this morning travelling over on the 30th let’s hope the weather holds.

Just got home from another backpacking UK train trip, 2 nights each in Stafford, Stratford-upon-avon, Banbury & Leamington Spa.

Averaged over 10 mile walking each day, travelling days been the hardest with the heavy backpack and some of the Premier Inns we stayed at a good walk from the station. Got soaked on our full day in Stafford but weather was great rest of the time.
We had been previously to Stratford upon Avon so we did a long walk to Wilmcote (Mary Ardens farm) and back. Same in Leamington walked to Warwick along the Grand Union Canal and back along the river.

The walking alone wasn't too bad but ha a few beers and bottles of wine on the evenings, bit of a mix eating at pubs a couple of chain restaurants and some cracking local restaurants.

SW, did you get to see Warwick Castle? One of the best castle visits - and I have been to a few castles.

SW, did you get to see Warwick Castle? One of the best castle visits - and I have been to a few castles.

No as visited it a few years back but agree we'll worth visiting if anyone hasn't been. We did grab a lunch at a cafe just outside the gates. Was in a old house dating back to the middle ages. Thomas Oken house.
