Overall, I'd say we're solid in defence, average in midfield and weak up top.

IMHO the key signings this summer will be as follows:

DC - a commanding centre-half to organise the defence (Matt Mills ?)
DMC - a mobile dog of war to break up attacks and give it simple (Joey Barton style, but not him)
AMC - a proper, out-and-out, no-tracking-back, attacking playmaker (Glenn Hoddle - even now!)
SC - an all round striker who can play as a lone target man and also in a two (Rickie Lambert must be getting bored in Liverpool)

Ideally, we'd also get a winger or two but we've been saying that for years so I wouldn't hold out much hope ..

It's like any decent team, they need a spine and we don't have one.

For me it starts with the keeper, and with ourselves I would say we need a strong keeper, a strong CH (Bamba would be good to keep), a strong CM (Like Austin but better) and an effective CF.

Until we sort those areas we will always be mid table. First and foremost we need to know who is coach.

I doubt Cellino would sign Matt Mills. He's not particularly good on the ball and his wag demands would probably be too high. I'd rather sign Bamba on a permanent anyway - Mills is just as prone to mistakes too. I think we need to be addressing Bamba's CB partner. I would like someone quick and a good one on one defender against pacey customers like Deeney. Now Leicester are looking quite likely to stay up, maybe Liam Moore?
A cheaper Barton type experienced midfielder would be Dean Hammond on a free (seems like I'm just going for Leicester players, but I assure you this is purely coincidental).
