I lived in a place called Bitterne, Southampton, for years as a kid
I knew it was named after the bird too - used to be common down on the Itchen river once upon a time.

I think the last one is the Fish Eagle also known as the Zimbabwian Bird. (Jonty Rhodes, Stanley finding Livingston in Rhodesia)

Problem is it only has 7 letters edit to say we are however on the same train of thought. I keep thinking its skylark, the lark bit being jonty..
