Hope your dog is soon back to his usual self.

We've had our dog for nearly 8 years and he's cost us a small fortune. When we got him, he had a cleft palette and a hair lip so was always overlooked. We said we'd take him and got the vets to operate on his mouth and it doesn't look at all bad now. Since then his knee joint in his rear leg kept slipping out (something I know from experience how much it hurts) so that was a trip to a specialist to have that sorted and cost nearly £2k. Finally a few weeks ago we found a fatty lump in one of his front legs so that was back to the vets to have it removed and biopsied, luckily it was just fat and not anything serious.

On a side note, one of our cats was missing all weekend but as I was at work until yesterday morning there wasn't much I could do. She eventually turned up around noon yesterday, absolutely starving. But not before I'd gone round putting a note through around 50 letterboxes asking people to check their garages and sheds. We reckon she must have been locked in somewhere, whether the notes helped or not I'm not sure.

So they cost a fortune and we worry like hell when something is wrong, but would we live without them? No way.

Well he's back, with a big (and I mean big) bald patch where they've operated. Also, got bald patches on his front paws, and under his chin. He's got a bucket round his head for good measure, with strict instructions of only 5 minutes exercise on a morning and evening.

When we arrived at the vets, the nurse said he's really drowsy, so I don't think he'll be too bouncy when he sees you both. Myself and the Mrs looked at each other, smiled, and said it might be best if Kev goes in to the cage first, as I'm not sure you (the nurse) will be able to hold him when he sees us, "No, I'll be fine". A few minutes later, she was holding her shoulder as if it had been ripped from its socket, and I'm in the cage calming the 'drowsy' dog who's tail is almost coming if it's hinges it's wagging that much.

Further appointments arranged for physio, stitches out etc and a bout of hydrotherapy swimming.

Goes without saying, but thank you all for your best wishes.

Good news BB

We don't have dogs because we are away so much and it wouldn't be fair on them. Mrs SW actually loves French Bulldogs and goes all giddy when we see one. She had five at one time Mother, Father and three Kids.
She loves all animals and in her younger days worked Vets as a receptionist but also assisted with a few procedures and loved it.

Years ago we had a ginger Tom who went missing for three days. On the morning of the third day I was driving down the road about half-a-mile away, 6.30 am, when I saw our ginger Tom at the entrance to a driveway. I stopped the car and chased him up the drive. I managed to corner him and picked him up. As soon as I picked him up I knew it wasn't our Tom (Tom was his name). I gently put him down and crept out of the drive. Fortunately, at that time of the morning, there was no one about. Our Tom appeared later that day!

Great news BB and isn't it fantastic when you see that tail going mad just because they see you, never fails to make me smile.

We have a cat that has 'adopted' us, comes round for a bit to eat, a good sleep in the dogs bed before going off again. We've no idea who's cat it is, although it's obviously well cared for.

I locked it in the garage once (obviously by accident), fortunately, I think it was only in there for an hour or so, but whenever I lock the garage up now I always double check it isn't in there.

When we lived in Spalding, we lived next door to the guy who had the big butchers shop in town. There was a cat who was owned by people in another house. The cat used to go next door where they fed him best cuts of beef. Then he would come to our house to sleep on one of the beds. Don't know when he had time to go home!

No mate, he's fine, although he did want to jump on the train to come and see Ozzy (the dog).
