Goathland & Malham Spout yesterday :-

My mother was born in Goathland & I'm sure I still have relatives nearby who are farmers. When I was a kid I remember they had an old double decker on the farm where they kept chickens & my aunt sent me to it to get myself a couple of eggs & cooked them for me with some home cured ham. Happy days.

My type of terrain that Selby. It looks like the waterfall & river are in good flow due to the snow. Must have been tricky underfoot though.

If your ever Hiking up the Northern Dales area checkout Hardraw force waterfall. Cracking Fall especially when it has been raining heavy.

SW if you ever run out of hiking places on the mainland nip over to N.Ireland we have a load of walks on offer.

Done a couple of walks in that area and have another to do from Hawes that will take us to the waterfall along with a visit to the Wensleydale cheese factory .

We heard it on Saturday as we walked back into Goathland, saw the steam not the train.

Any Links Davy to good walks preferably circular (8 to 10 miles), one near the Giants causeway would be good.


And to the rest of our Irish Members would be interested if you could advise any in either Galway area or the South West.

Selby. Any of the Antrim coastal walks are nice (weather permitting). The Gobbins on the east coast of Antrim is very good too (although tough enough going). It's closed for repairs until Spring I think.
