The record gate receipt at Elland Road is £1,006,000 but it wasn’t for a Leeds match! It was for the 1995 FA Cup semi-final between Tottenham and Everton.

Elland Road's record attendance is 57,892 during an FA Cup match against Sunderland in 1967. ( was there that night & it’s my understanding that approximately 10,000 were locked out )

Before the TV money people hijacked the European competitions allowing 4 teams from one country into the Champions league there was 3 competitions, The European Cup (for Champions only), The Cup winners Cup (for domestic cup winners) and the Inter Cities Fairs Cup (for the next best teams from each country).

Well Leeds Utd are the only English Club to have played in all 3 finals.

Believe only Barcelona & Juventos have achieved the same.

Leeds Utd title winning striker partnership Lee Chapman and Rod Wallace achieved England Caps at Under 21 and England "B" level but neither got a full England Cap.
However two of the players signed to replace them Brian Deane & Michael Ricketts did have England caps.

Think I'm correct but didn't Leeds release our version of "the battle hymn of the republic (Glory, Glory Leeds United)" before both Spurs and Man Utd yet those two claim it as theirs.

One of my all time great football memories was being at Goodison Park when Everton had their record crowd. 78,299. Not a lot of elbow room that day! Against Liverpool, drew 1 - 1. Season 1948/49.
I once played against Don Revie.

Great thread!

Only two players have played for both Leeds City and Leeds United:
Winger Ivan Sharpe, who had scored 17 goals in 65 appearances for City between 1913 and 1915, spent 2½ years at United between 1920 and 1923 (but only played once) and right-half Harry Sherwin, who left City just 5 months before their dissolution (mainly played war-time appearances), went on to score twice in 107 games for United between 1921 and 1925.
