Why can't he play like that for us?DublinLeedsFan wrote:Speaking of Jimmy Kebe, is this the same player in the video footage below?

When I was young I said to my mum, 'are the hills in the distance America?'

Yep ..... Brolin for me.
The most memorable moment was when his head bandage was sent flying when he played against us after moving to Palace.

Peter Barnes.
Thomas Brolin.
John Styles (now a stand up comedian) he was funnier as a footballer.

Also Roy Ellam, only way we could get Trevor Cherry was by agreeing to take this misfit.

Peter Barnes ... I used to be him in the playground at school.
He was my favourite player as a kid and I was made up when he signed for us, but he was absolute garbage, wasn't he ?
Didn't we end up flogging him to ManUre though ??
Brolin ... 'nuff said already, the fat sponger
The thing that bugs me, thinking about ex-players in general, is how many of them go on to be better at other clubs.
Howson was already a good player, Snoddy the best outside the top flight IMHO, but Bradley Johnson looked nothing more than an energetic clogger to me but he's ALWAYS in the Norwich team.
Getting back on topic though, what about the likes of Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore and Ross Barkley ?
All England players a few months after playing for us, and two of them likely to be on the plane to Brazil.
What's that all about ??
Other than that little lot, I would also like to nominate Ian Rush.
He was past it, but he was still utter rubbish ...

Robbie Fowler for me also, what a waste of a lot of money.jjrgreeney wrote:Great thread idea by the way sheepy,
Robbie Fowler has to be it for me, fantastic player who needs no introduction of his pedigree at Liverpool and he just wasn't the same player for us. outside shout could also be Jason Wilcox? fantastic flying winger when at Blackburn but we must have signed his hopeless twin brother.
We are Leeds, we have to believe our new players are good enough, encourage and support them and help them grow in to a team to be reckoned with. MoT
Re: Who is your biggest ever LUFC let-down signing...?
The obvious answer was Kebe, but I don't think that answers the question. It has to be: who came in with a fanfare of trumpets and was expected to do the business. After the Hunt debacle, I don't think anyone had particularly high hopes for Kebe. My biggest let-down was Alan Peacock. Don Revie had just about got the nucleus of his great side together but didn't have a centre forward. Peacock came in with a fanfare of trumpets but never really hacked it. He was injury prone and spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. Don Revie used to rave about him but I think it was more in hope than good judgement. The centre forward problem was never really resolved until Mick Jones and Alan Clarke arrived.
I once played against Don Revie.

I was thinking the same. As a young(ER) lad he was for me our first big signing -£930k I think- and he was about as useful as Kebe!
