After Extra Time: Dirty Leeds Uncut

‘… the Disciplinary Committee considered the list of clubs whose players had been cautioned or suspended, censured or fined during the 1963-’64 season.  Ipswich Town and Sheffield United had the best record and Leeds United the worst…’  (The FA News, summer, 1964-’65 pre season).

And so the myth began, dirty Leeds…

That’s the opening of the new novel ‘After Extra Time – Dirty Leeds Uncut’, coming out early August.  It’s the ‘director’s cut’ or redux/extended edition of ‘Dirty Leeds’ and is the version I always wanted but the then editor had a hard job to do to reduce the word count to what the publishers wanted.  The new version has a lot more personal story to it, plus more in-depth material on Don Revie and the controversies involving the Super Leeds team during his thirteen year reign as Leeds’ (and the country’s, arguably) best ever manager.
