John McGovern: From Bo'ness to the Bernabeu: My Story

He followed Brian Clough to four different clubs and shared the legend's many highs and few lows. Now, John McGovern is at last revealing his memoirs.

The latest book to hit the shelves comes from a source that can be trusted far more than most. McGovern, now 62, played for Old Big 'Ead at Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Hartlepool United.

Clough took him to Leeds United in August 1974 just after beginning what would be an ill-fated 44-day spell as manager of the Elland Road side. Clough made a quick management comeback in January 1975 with Second Division side Nottingham Forest in January 1975 and Clough signed him for Forest the following month.

McGovern made only 4 appearances for LUFC.
