Just Give me a Chance! The Playing Days of Dougie Freedman

Fascinating book which looks on the remarkable playing career of Dougie Freedman - with one of his most eventful (and happiest) spells being spent at Leeds United.

Although only on loan at Elland Road, he later revealed that he would have loved to join the club on a permanent basis.

The book starts with his childhood, growing up  in a tough part of Glasgow, then  describes the various ups and downs while he was variously on the books of QPR, Barnet, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Forest, Leeds and Southend.

Along the way, he played alongside (or against) many great players including Zinedine Zidane Ian Wright and David Beckham,  and he was twice sent off in his career - against Port Vale and Liverpool.

The back cover features a rare photograph of a goal he scored in one of only two appearances he made for Scotland - in a world Cup qualifier against Latvia. And there is another photo of a precious goal he scored for Leeds in a play-off match against Carlisle.
