Leeds United, The Kids Are Alright
This is the fifth book from David Watkins documenting his travels following Leeds United as they continue their pursuit of the Premiership. The 2014/2015 season was plagued with controversy and chaos, largely emanating from the erratic and unpredictable owner, Massimo Cellino. The regular changes in the team management left Leeds at one point looking odds on for relegation but thankfully Neil Redfearn eventually steered us to safety. The one shining light, in an otherwise mostly forgettable season, was the coming together of a group of young players who brought with them hope for the future. Sam Byram, Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor became the spine of the team this year and gave Leeds fans cause for optimism. Whether these players will choose to stay remains to be seen but we owe them our thanks for at least giving us something to cheer this season. The kids are alright...it's the adults causing all the problems!
