Jabba's Comments

A classic case of early promise unfulfilled, Entwistle played for the England Youth team before moving on to Bury and Sunderland. One of Jimmy Adamson's star signings, he contributed very little on the pitch - and specifically only two goals - throughout the season. He didn't manage the goal ratio required of a top class centre forward, but his career stretched out to 1990 with nearly 20 league and non-league clubs.

Carl Horrocks says: I played football with his brother. Wayne now has a business,he runs a farm in Bury and delivers his meat to all the local shops.Often you see him with his name emblazened on the van. He was the first footballer ever in England to score a hat trick with an orange football for Sunderland and has it at home!

Ronan Meyler says: i am a former penfriend of wayne entwistle who was a fine footballer in his career. i first wrote to him while he was playing foe leeds and i met him for the first time way back in late 1988.he was a fine gentleman and was well liked by many people. but the sadness is he could'nt get mant games as he would have liked with leeds united but then again he made the right move to blackpool. he once told me that alan clarke [ then while he was wayne manager at leeds ] had been fair to him. after that wayne has enjoyed his career with teams like stockport and wigan. i was lucky to get to see him play for wigan on his debut against his former club bolton and he scored a good goal that night. what a fine player he was.

ian roerts says: i saw wayne play many times for sunderland .i have to say he was in a team full of promising young players and he was by far the worst. sorry but true.

Lauren Kate Entwistle says: Wayne is my DAD!!! He is now a D.j, a meat seller and a gardener. He dosnt like Going on holiday and he is really stupid.
