Jabba's Comments

Left-back who appeared in Leeds' first full league game and became a regular over the next couple of years. He had made his reputation in Scotland with Hearts and appeared in a military international during World War 1 but was never capped for the full national side. He moved on to Bradford in 1924, but with age catching up with him he picked up an injury in 1926 that ended his professional career. In business he ran a successful sports supplies operation (see the advertisement from a 1960s programme above) that provided the kit for Leeds for some years, and he remained in West Yorkshire up to his death in spring 1967.
