John Swinton Pryde Henderson (or "Jock" as he was known) started his career in Scotland, coming close to getting a medal with Falkirk as they lost the 1948 League Cup Final. He arrived at Leeds via Third Lanark and Rotherham, and his experience helped stabilise a Leeds side in Division 2. He also played a handful of games at the start of the season that saw Leeds promoted back to Division 1. He played for several non-league sides in the South after leaving Leeds and had a brief spell as a non-league coach with Calne Town.

Mrs V.R. Henderson says: Mr J.S.P. Henderson at the age of 78 is still fit and working for Claremont Automatics Ltd., MELKSHAM. He is still an avid football fan but feels it is now money orientated and for him it was a special privilege to be paid for something he loved, which was a pittance.

Mrs Lee Turtell (nee henderson) says: He's my grandpop. He's still living in Wiltshire and working for claremont. He now has a great grandchild, who has inherited a liking for the game and a competetive streak!
