Jabba's Comments

Another player from the north-east who played for Leeds in the second half of the 1920s (anyone entering the dressing room would have needed a Geordie-English dictionary). Talented and pacy winger who created the goals that helped Leeds to promotion, he was popular with the crowds, and played for York well into his thirties. After the war, he returned to York as a manager and later as a director.
