Albert Nightingale was an immmensely popular player who was well
known in Yorkshire after a successful career with Sheffield United,
but it was at Leeds that he really came into his own, scoring freely
and combining well with John Charles. At the age of 32, he picked
up a knee injury in a game against Everton that was enough to
end his career.

the halfway line and hit the penalty area. He was a great player
though and had the looks of a latin film star. Great entertainer.
